![]() Ubuntu detects the Kindle and the serial number but says "no media" under drive description I could have done it wrong though so maybe I will try again. ![]() I pried my Kindle apart easily and tried to use a paperclip to short the USB and force it to boot through USB but I failed at that too. I also tried a program called Rekindle and it comes back saying pretty much the same thing to the effect of "Error file does not exist" or similar. I assume it is telling me there is no file system on my Kindle. So I thought that was good because now I know my device isn't bad.Īnyhow first I tried running SoupKit through a Linux terminal and I installed SoupKit fine but everytime I actually try to run the utility it comes back saying something like "folder does not exist". I successfully got Ubuntu working and it detects my Kindle. I couldn't get Windows to detect my Kindle at all so I found a tutorial on loading Ubuntu to a flash drive and running it through there. "Kindle" being in white and "Fire" being in orange. I am stuck at the Kindle Fire logo screen. My point being that I am not completely stupid lol. I have rooted it before and have had IceCream Sandwich off and on it quite a few times and always gone back to the Stock ROM because it just seemed to run better. If this is in the wrong section on the forums I will remove it but it seemed right to me. ![]() Ok first off I am sorry if this seems like a useless repost but I have searched forums and can't find a fix for my problem so I am making a new thread. ![]()
